Road to St. Anthony's

Introduced to the sport of triathlon in the summer of 2005, I found a part of me that had been missing since my college basketball career ended in 1995. I entered a couple of events and was introduced to the local swimming, biking, and running communtiy. $everal thousand$ of dollar$ later, I was 'All In'!!

Equippd with a bag of swim training gear, a new GIANT OCR1 road bike, Mizuo running shoes for training and Asics for racing, I began unleashing the fury in sprint races, placing among the top finishers in my age group. The addiction was at full force, and I decided to move to the next level at the 2006 St. Anthony's olympic distance triathlon in St. Pete Florida.

After 3 productive months of training, I developed an umbilical hernia just four weeks before the planned event. I had surgery to repair the tear in early April. Eight weeks later I placed third in my age group in the Jax Triathlon in Jacksonville, Florida.

I have now recovered 100% and have set my sights on the 2007 St. Anthony's race on April, 29th in St. Pete Florida. I truly enjoy every day that I train in preparation for 'that' race!

Got something to say?
